What it is

A standard trade invoice describing the goods, quantity, unit and total value, buyer and seller details, and agreed Incoterm — the core financial document of the shipment.

When it's required

Required for every export shipment. Listed as a mandatory attachment on Tanzania's official National Business Portal export procedure, alongside the Packing List, exporter TIN certificate and authorization letter.

Who typically prepares it

Prepared by the exporter, then submitted to the appointed Clearing and Forwarding Agent (CFA), who uploads it into TANCIS as part of the customs declaration.
