Sources & Methodology

Export.tz exists because Tanzania's official export-procedure resources are broad but unevenly current, and the private alternatives are shipment-data resale products, not plain-English guidance. We're trying to be the readable, honestly-dated synthesis in between.

What we do

• Every procedural claim is stamped with when we last verified it. Export rules and levy rates change; we'd rather tell you a fact is a year old than let you assume it's current.
• We cite primary and official sources wherever they exist — TRA, TanTrade, TBS, Bank of Tanzania — and name where a figure comes from a secondary or trade-press source instead.
• Where sources conflict (which happens often with Tanzania trade statistics), we say so rather than silently picking one number.
• We keep our scope to process, procedure, logistics and trade data. Finding commodity suppliers is what Commodities.tz is for.

What we don't do

• We don't resell or bulk-redistribute UN Comtrade or ITC Trade Map data commercially, and we don't try to compete with shipment-record platforms on raw data volume.
• We don't publish procedural information without a date attached.
