Export Permit
Last reviewed 29 September 2026
What it is
There is no single, general "Tanzania export permit." Baseline export documentation (invoice, packing list, TIN certificate, authorization letter) is required for all exports; beyond that, permit requirements are commodity- and authority-specific. Several commodity boards require their own shipment-level export permit in addition to an annual trading/exporter licence — for example, the Tanzania Coffee Board, Cashewnut Board of Tanzania, Tanzania Cotton Board and Tanzania Tobacco Board each operate their own licensing and per-shipment permit regime.
When it's required
Check the specific commodity export guide for which board-issued permit, if any, applies to your shipment.
Who typically prepares it
Varies by commodity — see each commodity's export guide and its relevant commodity board.
