Quality / Grading Certificate
Last reviewed 29 September 2026
What it is
A certificate confirming the commodity meets a specific grade or quality classification. For several Tanzanian commodities this is issued by the relevant commodity board under its own grading system, not a generic TBS consumer-standards certificate — e.g. Tanzania Coffee Board (AA/AB/PB/C/... grades), Cashewnut Board of Tanzania (kernel outturn and AFI kernel grades), Tanzania Cotton Board (HVI-tested lint classification), and Tanzania Sisal Board (its own 11-grade fibre classification).
When it's required
Required wherever the relevant commodity board mandates grading before export — check the specific commodity's export guide.
Who typically prepares it
Issued by the relevant commodity board's own grading/quality department, or in some cases an independent inspection body.
