Parastatal port operator for Zanzibar, established under Act No. 1 of 1997 — separate from Mainland Tanzania's Tanzania Ports Authority. Operates six ports (Malindi, Mkokotoni and Fumba on Unguja; Mkoani, Wete and Wesha on Pemba), with Malindi the dominant gateway for Zanzibar's international trade. Export documentation for Zanzibar-origin cargo must also carry a Zanzibar Maritime Authority (ZMA) stamp.
